Tire Rack

If you're looking to buy some new tires, I'd recommend checking out Tirerack.com. We bought 4 new tires for our Toyota Highlander. After finding out how much it was going to cost me at the local shop, I decided to shop around online. I went with Tirerack.com and was quite pleased. I bought 4 KUMHO 225/70R16 SOLUS tires for $288 (this was back in March of 2007). It was going to cost me well over $500 to have a local place do it. I certainly don't want to sacrifice quality for money, however, so I kept that in mind as well. They carry plenty of well-known brand names.

Want to use your own handwriting as a computer font? If so, visit this site. I haven't tried it, but you can preview it for free. Even if you buy it, it's only $9 (USD), so you won't go broke either way. Pretty interesting concept.....if you have nice handwriting.

Red Box - Video Rentals

Have you heard of Redbox? If you haven't, you're missing out. It's a new way to rent movies. It's cheaper than Netflix and Blockbuster. We use one that's sitting in a Harris Teeter, right before you walk inside the store (where they store the shopping carts). You can rent movies for $1 a night. As long as you return it by 9 p.m. the next night, it doesn't cost you anything additional. For each additional night, add $1 to the rental fee. After 25 nights, the DVD is yours to keep. Of course, if you think you want to buy the DVD, just go to a store and buy it cheaper. But, it's a sweet concept. New DVD's come out every Tuesday, and you can return the movies to any Redbox location. You can even rent them online and go pick them up at the store. It uses your credit card to track everything. Granted, the selection of DVD's isn't as extensive as a Netflix, but it's got new releases every Tuesday, and it can hold upwards of 400 DVD's, so it's got a nice variety.
